This course is conducted in University of Georgia performing arts facilities in Athens, Georgia (an easy 75-min drive from Atlanta). This quaint college town is affordable, vibrant, and has one of the best rigging setups in the USA for inversion-style yoga.

Shuttle Service from Atlanta Airport Commercial ground shuttle service is available from the Atlanta Airport to Athens almost every hour on the hour and drop off point is at the UGA Georgia Center (just across the street of the dance building and same building as the University of Georgia hotel listed.

*Groome Transportation (Atlanta airport to Athens) also makes stops at some other near-by hotels besides the University of Georgia Hotel, as long as someone arranges at least 24hrs ahead of time. Each person should inquire when they make reservations.

The University of Georgia Department of Dance and New Dance Theatre is located in the Dance Building, which is connected to the Marine Sciences Building, located across the street from the South Campus Parking Deck. This is the best place to park. You may enter the South Campus Parking Deck from Sanford Drive or Lumpkin Street.

What to Do

Tour the UGA campus!
One of the oldest institutions of the country, UGA has both historic as well as state-of-the Art buildings. The landscape throughout is beautiful.

UGA Ramsey Center: Student recreational facilities are rated among the best in the country. The Ramsey Student Center for Physical Activities has 3 gyms, 3 pools (one Olympic-sized, a 17-foot diving well, and a lap pool), a 1/8 mile indoor suspended rubberized track, a 44 feet-high climbing wall, 14-foot outdoor bouldering wall, 10 racquetball courts, 2 squash courts, bicycle repair stands, 8 full-length basketball courts, and 19,000 square feet of weight-training space. (must have a guest pass to gain admission).

The Georgia Museum of Art: The Georgia Museum of Art is an academic museum as well as the official art museum of the state of Georgia.

State Botanical Garden of Georgia: The State Botanical Garden of Georgia comprises ornamental gardens, trails and a vast array of educational programs.

Georgia Museum of Natural History: The Georgia Museum of Natural History is a consortium consisting of 14 natural history collections of archeological, biological, geological and paleontological materials.

Richard B. Russell Special Collections Library: A department within the UGA Libraries, the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies serves as a center for research and study of the modern American political system. 300 South Hull Street

Georgia Center – University Hotel

We have established a partnership with the University of Georgia Hotel. Book before June 20 to take advantage of the YOGABODY discounted rate of $145.00 plus tax per night (Classic-sized room, 200 sq. ft., furnished with one King bed, one Queen bed, or two singles). These rates do not include breakfast nor the $10 daily parking fee in the South campus parking deck adjacent to our building. Guests are welcome to park in our front circle on Carlton Street, check in, and take their belongings to their room before parking in the deck behind our hotel.

The Georgia Center is located at 1197 South Lumpkin Street, Athens, Georgia. We are on campus, at the corner of Lumpkin and Carlton Streets. The hotel front door faces Carlton Street, diagonally across from UGA’s Stegeman Coliseum.
